Durability Index: Ripskore Now Supports Televisions and Washing Machines
Since 2025, televisions and washing machines use the French Durability Index. Affected categories, two criterion families, 5 files to upload, and Ripskore deliverables.
Good news for major-appliance brands: Ripskore now processes Durability Index submission folders — television and washing machine (front-load or top-load). Same flat fee (€999 excl. VAT), same target turnaround (72 hours after your documents are validated), same audit-ready deliverables (label, scoring detail PDF, Excel calculation sheet, audit report).
What is the Durability Index?
It is the score out of 10 that replaced the Repairability Index for televisions and washing machines in 2025. It informs consumers before purchase, but goes beyond repairability alone: the overall score combines a repairability sub-score and a reliability sub-score.
Sellers display the score and scoring detail near the price; as manufacturer or importer, you must establish the calculation and supporting evidence.
Two criterion families
| Family | What it covers | Files on Ripskore |
|---|---|---|
| Repairability | Documentation, disassembly, spare parts, pricing, category-specific criteria | The usual 4 files (exploded view, bill of materials, spare-parts price list, product documentation) |
| Reliability | Warranties, service life, resistance, quality process, software commitments (depending on category) | A 5th file — warranty, reliability and quality |
The scoring detail shown to consumers reflects this dual structure — distinct from the standalone Repairability Index on other categories.
The 5 files to upload on Ripskore
French law does not prescribe these exact titles; they are what the platform needs to build your compliance package.
Repairability family (4 files)
- Exploded view — technical disassembly diagram
- Bill of materials (BOM) — spare parts list
- Spare parts price list — ex-VAT price grid
- Product documentation — manual and/or technical documentation
For televisions, documentation may also cover remote assistance or consumer repair support. For washing machines, a usage counter may be relevant when available.
Reliability family (5th file)
Warranty, reliability and quality (PDF) — summary of evidence feeding the reliability sub-score, for example:
- Television — resistance or reliability tests, panel lifespan, dead-pixel or anti–burn-in warranties, commercial durability warranty duration, documented quality process, firmware update commitment duration
- Washing machine — cycle or wear reliability evidence, no-fee motor warranty (duration tiers), commercial durability warranty, quality process, software maintenance commitments
Group these items in one readable PDF rather than scattering them across unlabelled attachments.
Supported categories
Ripskore currently handles two families for the Durability Index:
| Category | Examples | Typical channel |
|---|---|---|
| Television | LED, OLED, QLED consumer TVs | Marketplaces, retailers, importers |
| Washing machine | Front-load or top-load, freestanding or built-in | Retailers, marketplaces |
If you already sell vacuum cleaners, dishwashers, or laptops through Ripskore, nothing changes: those categories remain on the Repairability Index (4 files).
Same service, same turnaround
For a durability submission folder, the workflow is identical:
- Create a product submission folder and choose television or washing machine
- Upload all 5 mandatory files
- Pay the €999 excl. VAT flat fee
- Review of your files, score on the official grid, then compliance package delivery within 72 hours (target after validation)
You receive official signage, the scoring detail PDF for your sellers, the calculation sheet, and the audit report — produced from the files you uploaded, not the source evidence itself.
Why plan ahead?
Marketplace listings and retailers require a consistent, documented score. A missing or thin 5th file blocks calculation — the repairability family alone is no longer enough for these categories.
Gathering your technical evidence (warranties, tests, BOM, etc.) stays on your side. Building the compliance package in-house — completed official grid, calculated score, label, scoring detail PDF, and audit report — often takes 2–3 weeks. Ripskore does that from your uploads, with a 72-hour target after validation.

In short
Since 2025, televisions and washing machines use the Durability Index: overall score out of 10, two sub-scores (repairability + reliability), 5 files for you to upload. Ripskore processes these submission folders today — same price, same target turnaround for the audit-ready compliance package (label, scoring detail PDF, Excel, audit report).
